Piggy Sue's Plea
My name is PiggySue, and I'm a senior citizen of the Boston world.
I'm here to state the case for older dogs in the Rescue program, as I was one of them. I am 10 + years old now, in excellent health, and have the outlook and behavior of a much younger dog. As you can see from my picture, I'm a gorgeous girl. When I entered the Rescue program a few months ago, no one was interested in me. They all wanted a "younger" dog. This is age discrimination, and I won't stand for it!
My new home has two other Bostons, both younger than I am, and I'm a member of the family now. I love to play with my new friends and go for car rides and get the last few licks of a soft ice cream cone and chew on nylon bones.
(You should see my teeth! I could do toothpaste commercials.)
Anyway, just think what would have happened if no one had wanted to take a chance on an old lady like me. We would have missed out on all of these great times, as well as those to come. So, in closing, if you are thinking of getting a rescued dog, PLEASE give some consideration to the older dogs that are available. After all, we're just as lovable and loving as the younger dogs -----
